We are pleased to announce that we are now offering Spey opportunities on the Trinity River.
Swinging Up Steel.
Spent Friday Spey fishing the Trinity River for steelhead. We floated around Junction City and saw decent action. I took the opportunity before the cooler weather comes to fish skated flies. Watching a fish break the surface for your fly always gets the heart racing.
Spring on the Lower Sac
After winter flows reaching 80,000 cfs and fishing at 30,000 cfs, it has been nice to have the river back to normal flows of around 10,000 cfs. The bugs are popping off and the river has a nice green hue to it. Lura and I went out last Saturday, the wind was up but the temps were down into the low 70's and the fishing was good. Soon we will be back up to hot days that will make for some great mornings and late afternoons.
Lower Sac in early November
The egg bite was short lived this year but still lingers on. Some fish aren't done yet. Gorgeous days and cooler weather add to this great time of the year to float this river.
McCloud
Fished and hiked the McCloud last weekend. Such a gorgeous river. Even thought it was a holiday weekend, a short hike found solitude. Golden Stones were plentiful.
PMDs and Caddis
The weather is warming but the nights are perfect.
Lower Sac Evenings
Fished the mid reaches of the Lower Sacramento River during the evening recently with a buddy. A nice reprieve from the heat and lots of bugs and dry fly fishing.
Big Bugs
Fished the McCloud and Battle Creek in the past couple of weeks. Always exciting to see a trout crush a salmon fly.
